art prompt of the week #2

Second prompt : steampunk, chosen by kit-cat.

I'm not really familiar with steampunk, so this is just a guess of what COULD be steampunk, MAYBE: alchemist's daughter, big skirt, corset-ish thing, mechanic arm thing, flask etc.

Trying out some more digital painting. I work so much faster when I ink and scan, so I don't think I'll be turning in any assignments for class that are digi-painted.
Still, fun to do! (especially when it's dreary and rainy outside) :3

I get to choose next week... hmmmmmm....

Ashe

Ashelia of Dalmasca from Final Fantasy XII.
Haven't played the game, but I like her outfit :D
Sure, it's a lot of thigh plus a tad slutty for a princess, but whatever.
I guess she can wear what she wants.

art prompt of the week #1

So my roommates/friends and I are doing these prompts that each of us takes turns to think of. Pretty straightforward stuff, it's nice to have some "theme" that all of us take a stab at.

The first prompt : military uniforms, chosen by Marika
This chick is a sexy Bolshevik commie who loves ribbons, riding crops, and her fierce doberman pinscher. I just adore uniforms in general, so this was a real fun doodle to do (>w<)

Hopefully Marika will upload hers soon...

リザードン、君に決めた!

Just some dragon-ish thing that I thought would be nice with some charizard coloring. And a flame on its tale. I dunno.

Survivor

Character Development homework.
I have a grayscale cellshaded version as well, but I'm kind of having mixed feelings for that one... so no post of that :)

nu-ay

So for our first assignment for character development we had to design a figure playing a musical instrument (create an interesting silhouette, shape, exaggerate etc)

It's a "Nue", which is basically a Japanese version of a chimera (tiger body, snake tail etc.)
It's also a kind of a thunder-tiger-monster, so I put all sorts of thunder motifs EVERYWHERE.
The instrument is a taiko drum, although I considered a rockin' electric guitar or whatever too.

Being in CD made me realize that I really enjoy seeing other people's work...!
I just really enjoy being around illustration people so much.
Sure, they make me nervous sometimes when I think about all the competition around me, but still! Sooo fuuuun I loooove illustraaaation....

SPANK ME

Wow I've been posting a lot. Hope I can keep this up...
Played with gouache. I'd like to do more stuff with it.
Went to life drawing class and did gesture drawings too big to scan, so none of that stuff. Our model was great (although he had a very fuzzy ass) and I had a nice time.
It feels good to be drawing naked people from life again (;w;)

青龍偃月刀少女

I should really finish stuff and not let them be these "half-done-I-got-tired-of-it" things.

Eh

Doodle-doo.

I love you dearly MP470

(I obviously like drawing girls)
Just a scan from the sketchbook.
Brought back my copic markers from home, so I've been experimenting with them.
It feels nice to use them again, although I probably won't be using them
for class assignments since all my teachers seem to DESPISE markers with a fiery passion...
Will scan more soon!
